About
CRANIAL
OSTEOPATHY
Cranial Osteopathy is a very gentle form of osteopathy where very light pressure on the head, spine or other areas of the body is used to assess and balance the rhythmic motions present in ligaments, membranes and other tissues throughout the body. This can be used to release stresses and aids in the body’s self-healing abilities. Due to its gentle and deeply-relaxing nature, cranial osteopathy is particularly useful for treating young babies, children, as well sensitive individuals.

Regarding the treatment of babies, a meta study indicates that “… the parents of infants receiving manipulative therapies reported fewer hours crying per day than parents whose infants did not, based on contemporaneous crying diaries, and this difference was statistically significant. The trials also indicate that a greater proportion of those parents reported improvements that were clinically significant.”

However, cranial osteopathy can be used on anyone and Fenja uses the diagnostic and therapeutic elements of this treatment approach in most of her treatments, as well as offering stand-alone sessions when appropriate or requested.
