About

OSTEOPATHY

Osteopathy is a gentle and holistic form of effective manual therapy that focuses on identifying and treating functional imbalances in the body to stimulate the body’s self-healing ability.

The initial consultation includes a full case history, followed by a physical examination of the symptomatic area as well as other body systems to assess how they are working together and whether they are affecting the presenting complaint. Then specific techniques, ranging from joint mobilisation, myofascial work and ligamentous or cranial techniques, are used to improve body function. Areas treated may include bones, joints and muscles, but also the surrounding fascia of nerves, organs (viscera) and blood vessels.

Tailored exercises may be given if indicated.
